DESCRIPTION: ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Minnesota... Minnesota River at New Ulm affecting Blue Earth, Nicollet and Brown Counties. Minnesota River at Granite Falls HWY 212 affecting Renville, Chippewa and Yellow Medicine Counties. Minnesota River at Morton affecting Renville and Redwood Counties. Minnesota River at Montevideo affecting Yellow Medicine, Chippewa and Lac qui Parle Counties. South Fork Crow River below Mayer affecting Carver County. Crow River at Rockford affecting Hennepin and Wright Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...South Fork Crow River below Mayer. * WHEN...Until Sunday evening. * IMPACTS...At 11.0 feet, Carver County Road 123 is closed north of Highway 7 to 42nd Street. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 930 AM CDT Saturday, the stage was 11.3 feet. - The river is continuing to gradually fall. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage tomorrow afternoon and continue falling to 8.8 feet Saturday, July 12. - Flood stage is 11.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 11.5 feet on 05/26/2017.

INSTRUCTION: Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

A contrail is an artificial cloud, created by the passing of an aircraft.

Contrails form because water vapor in the exhaust of aircraft engines is suspended in the air under certain temperatures and humidity conditions. These contrails are called exhaust contrails.

Another type of contrail can form due to a temporary reduction in air pressure moving over the plane's surface, causing condensation. These are called aerodynamic contrails.

When you can see your breath on a cold day, it is also because of condensation. The reason contrails last longer than the condensation from your breath is because the water in contrails freezes into ice particles.
