DESCRIPTION: ...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Texas... Colorado River Near San Saba affecting San Saba and Lampasas Counties. For the Colorado River...including San Saba...Major flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Major flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Colorado River near San Saba. * WHEN...From early this morning to early Monday morning. * IMPACTS...At 38.0 feet, Major flooding will occur. Roads and low water crossings will be flooded and impassible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1:35 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 32.0 feet. - Bankfull stage is 25.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 1:35 AM CDT Saturday was 32.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 38.8 feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage early tomorrow afternoon. - Flood stage is 30.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 38.4 feet on 09/11/1952. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
INSTRUCTION: To escape rising water, take the shortest path to higher ground. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely. Similar to cirrocumulus clouds, altocumulus clouds are
characterized by cloud patches. They are distinguished by larger cloudlets
than cirrocumulus clouds but are still smaller than stratocumulus clouds.
Altocumulus clouds most commonly form in middle altitudes (between 2 and 5 km)
and may resemble, at times, the shape of a flying saucer.
These uncommon formations, called altocumulus lenticularis, are created by uplift
in the atmosphere and are most often seen in close proximity to mountains.

Cirrocumulus clouds form at high altitudes (usually around 5 km)
and have distinguishing characteristics displayed in a fine layer of
small cloud patches. These small cloud patches are sometimes referred to as
"cloudlets" in relation to the whole cloud formation.
Cirrocumulus clouds are formed from ice crystals and water droplets. Often, the
water droplets in the cloud freeze into ice crystals and the cloud becomes a
cirrostratus cloud. Because of this common occurrence, cirrocumulus cloud
formations generally pass rapidly.
