DESCRIPTION: At 907 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 8 miles northwest of Clarkesville, or 5 miles east of Helen, moving northeast at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Mountain City, Lake Rabun, Long Creek, Tallulah Falls, Batesville, Turnerville, Clayton, Tiger, Lake Burton, and Dillard.

Fog is technically a type of stratus cloud, which lies along the
ground and obscures visibility.
It is usually created when humidity in the air condenses into tiny water droplets.
Because of this, some places are more prone to foggy weather, such as regions
close to a body of water.
Fog is similar to mist; both are the appearance of water droplets suspended in
the air, but fog is the term applied to the condition when visibility is less than 1 km.
